Development of miniaturized techniques for the chromatographic determination of phenolic compounds in mangoes (Mangifera indica L.)

The mango (Mangifera indica L.) is a tropical fruit belonging to the Anacardiaceae family; widely appreciated and recognized for its sensory characteristics and high nutritional value, it originates from South Asia—specifically eastern India and Myanmar (formerly Burma)—and has been cultivated for over 4,000 years. This fruit is a rich source of nutrients such as carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins, minerals, proteins, dietary fiber, and sugars. Furthermore, it contains bioactive compounds—including vitamins, carotenoids, and phenolic compounds—that are essential for promoting health. This project aims to develop miniaturized techniques, based on the QuEChERS method and matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD), to determine the phenolic compounds present in mangoes (peel and pulp) using high-performance liquid chromatography.
